(Eastern District) Born near Peebles, 12th March 1843, the son of Robert Ward and Jean McDonald; ordained a priest in bishop’s private chapel, Valladolid, 6th June 1868, and left for Scotland, 14th June 1868; stationed in Denny until 1877; died in Glasgow, August 1884.

Report of the ordination of Peter Ward in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1869.
The Rev. Peter Ward was born in the Vale of Manor, near Peebles, on the 12th March 1843; entered Blairs College on 26th July 1858, and was sent to the Scots College of Valladolid in September 1862. He there received the Tonsure and Minor Orders on the 6th, and Sub-deacon’s Orders on 7th March. He was ordained Deacon on the 17th May, and Priest on the 6th June, 1868. The whole of these Orders were conferred upon him by His Eminence Don Juan Ignacio Moreno, Cardinal Abp. of Valladolid, in his private chapel. On his return to Scotland, he was appointed Junior Clergyman of St Joseph’s, Dundee.
